It’s no April Fool’s joke.

After December through March being the slowest period of the year, April comes in like a lion, and it doesn’t slow down very much at all until next December.  I hope you are well rested, and strapped in, because it’s going to be a wild ride!

April is really when elopement planning greatly differs from large wedding planning.  You won’t be having one wedding a day.  You’ll start having three, four, or five in a day.  Sometimes even more!

Though not many people get married on April 1st.  I never figured out why! (joke… joke…)

It’s so nice being outside, though.  Flowers everywhere.  Warm sun.  The leaves on the trees coming in bright green.  Everything just feels electric and new!

Let’s look at the numbers, shall we?

  • This month, we booked 25 weddings.
  • The amount of sales we made this month was $31,024.04
  • The biggest cost for us each month is permit fees. We paid a total of $2,388.85 in permit costs.
  • Our other two main expenses are to the florist and baker: $200.
  • That brings our total expenses to $2,588.85 (not taking into account fuel costs, on-the-road food, taxes, and other incidentals).
  • Total profit in April comes to $28,435.19.

The wedding industry especially, but most businesses have a slow season and a busy season.

You know how it can be when things start picking back up again after a lull. It’s tough to transition from having all the time in the world to suddenly being short on time and feeling exhausted.

But if you can power through those first few weeks or months of craziness, it will be worth it in the end. Your business will be thriving again and you’ll be glad you survived the transition period.

So hang in there, business owners! You’ll get back into your groove before you know it!
