Oh September, how I love you and dread you every year.

September is the start of our busiest season of the year.  The dog days of summer are coming to an end, and the days spent mostly answering emails are merging with the days I’m spending much of my time out and about hosting the autumn elopements we have been planning all year.

But suddenly, after a couple of slower summer months, the days of being away from the house for most of the day come as a shock to my system. I find myself having to juggle family time, work time, and self-care time all at once. I’m learning how to be more organized and strategic with my time – something I’m sure many of you out there can relate to.

I’m also having to discover the best way to be present in all those different areas. I’m trying to identify what works best for me to ensure that I’m fully present in all areas of my life. I’m learning that it’s ok to take time for myself so that I can be present for everyone in my life.

It’s a transition, but I’m learning that it is possible to balance work, family, and self-care. I’m learning the importance of taking care of my own needs so that I can be my best self for others.

Let’s see how we did this month:

  • This month, we booked 35 weddings.
  • The amount of sales we made this month was $38,980.20
  • The biggest cost for us each month is permit fees. We paid a total of $2,730 in permit costs.
  • Our other two main expenses are to the florist and baker: $1200.
  • That brings our total expenses to $3,930 (not taking into account fuel costs, on-the-road food, taxes, and other incidentals).
  • Total profit in September comes to $35,050.20

September is *always* a shock to the system every single year.  You are finally fully rested up from the spring, and then BOOM!

You are running all over having elopements at beautiful locations with wonderful people and making lots of money…

Ok, ok… It’s hard to complain.  Most people dream of doing this.

How about you?  Drop me a line and tell me what you envision as your dream life.
