Normally, June here is when we start to slow down a little bit from the busy spring season.

Nationwide, the two most popular months to get married are September (16% of all weddings) and June (15%), which is slightly off for our busy seasons of May and October.

That doesn’t mean there’s a cliff’s edge where weddings just stop.  We don’t have any of those months.  They usually just gradually slow down.  However, this year, that didn’t happen as much.

Elopement planning is odd in that, when budgets are getting a little lean and belts are needing to be tightened, that’s when people start thinking that a $50,000 single-day party may not be the best idea.  They could stay for 4-5 days at a nice hotel or an AirBnB, eat at a nice restaurant, and get married and combine it with their honeymoon and spend a tiny fraction of that money while still having wonderful memories.

Maybe you don’t live at a huge destination spot.  Maybe you live in a small town or in a larger metropolitan location.  It doesn’t matter!  If you have people that live in your community that want to get married but don’t want to spend $50-60k on a party, you WILL have an option that people will gravitate to.

People will always want to get married. Why not give them an option nobody else is?

Let’s look at our numbers:

  • This month, we booked 37 weddings
  • The amount of sales we made this month was $33,206.75
  • The biggest cost for us each month is permit fees. We paid a total of $2,324.42 in permit costs.
  • Our other two main expenses are to the florist and baker: $435.
  • That brings our total expenses to $2,759.42 (not taking into account fuel costs, on-the-road food, taxes, and other incidentals).
  • Total profit in June comes to $30,447.33.

The biggest take-away I want for you to take this month is to think of ALL of the weddings that have happened in your general area.

All of them… Large weddings.  Courthouse weddings. Back yard weddings.

Go to your local courthouse or register of deeds and ask them how many weddings were registered just in your county.

How many of these people do you think would have rather used your option?  How much money could you have earned had you been there for them?

Maybe 10%?  Maybe 25%?  What if it’s only 5%?

How much of that money could be sitting in your bank account right now?

The longer you wait, the longer that revenue goes to other people.

You deserve to live your dream! It’s time you take contro
